Things that made 80's shows great;

bobs nuts finally dropped and he sang more naturally and less like a cowpoke.

phil started playin 6 string, 12-26-82. See 83 for phil bombs.

jerrys voice developed like fine wine into the 77-82 smokey substantial, and my personal favorite. 78 had some of the most soulful and bluesy Jerry, post larangitus of January. By 83 his voice was on the way to an all time low during late 84-85.

2 drummers, yes way better. 77 they were playin some fine extended solo runs back and forth between Mickey and Billy. It sped up the energy and punctuated the new post hiatus sound. Way more complete band sound, Evolved, like if the cave man found a lighter, on fire. The drummers backed off around 80 they picked back up some fierce funk in 82-83. During 85 Mickey was playing out in the mix and lots of notes. 87-91 many people say they 'figured it out' and I remember being mesmorized down in front of the stage many times with the multi layered rhythm below
rhythms.
